Faith Family and Flowers

Updated: Apr 17

Welcome to the farm! We're glad you're here!

A family flower farm running on the faith and laughter of this mother daughter duo.

Salutations! I'm Madalyn, a stay at home mom with a farm on the side. I started this flower adventure back in 2018 after leaving a agricultural sales position. I went to Michigan State University getting an BS in agribusiness management knowing I could get a sales job to work with farmers. But in my heart of hearts I wanted to be a farmer.

Big side note: all sides of my family farm, my dad however, raised on a farm, helped take over the family business as a mechanic, therefore no farm for me to get into.

Farming is a hard gig to get into when you have no land and no resources to get started, or at least that is what I thought.

After doing a little research, I decided to become a seasonal flower farmer. I quit my job and said a prayer when applying for a farm loan. God heard me and I got money to get the farm started and all of a sudden its been 6 years since that first season! When I started this journey it was just me, with the help of my mom Cathy and stepdad Brian here and there. My mom actually owned her own flower shop back in the day and she was very eager to help me plant seeds and taught me how to arrange flowers. Brian was happy to let me use a small bit of earth to grow my blooms and he is our chief farm advisor when mom and I come to him with our crazy ideas of how to plant things and arrange the field.

I have learned a lot along the way and finally feel like we are hitting a good rhythm with the growing of flowers. This year we have a few new things we are offering like a u-pick tulip patch and fresh weekly bouquets offered at the farm. Along with welcoming back guest for our popular on farm events. Join our journey and watch us grow!

More About Us:

At Aurora Rose, we specialize in growing seasonal flowers that bloom from April to October. Our journey began in 2018 when Madalyn, inspired by her love for flowers, decided to turn her passion into a thriving farm. Leaving behind an agricultural sales position, she embarked on this floral adventure with the unwavering support of her mom, Cathy, and the rest of the family.

What We Offer:

Our farm isn't just a place where flowers bloom; it's a haven for those who appreciate the simple joys of life. From on-farm events that celebrate the changing seasons to our popular bouquet-making classes, we're dedicated to sharing the beauty of our blooms with you. We also take pride in partnering with local businesses to spread the love for flowers in our community.

Family, Faith, and Sunshine:

At the heart of Aurora Rose Flower Farm is our love for God, family, and the simple pleasure of laughing in the sunshine. Madalyn, a mother of two little ones, along with her husband Max, live in Ubly Michigan. Her mom Cathy lives in Caro Michigan, where the home farm is located. Our family values are woven into every bloom, making each petal a reflection of our shared joys and experiences.

At the end of 2020, Madalyn and Max relocated 4 hours north of the home farm for Max's job. Mom (who was planning on retiring from her 911 dispatching position) and I decided to keep moving forward with the flower farm and I started growing flowers up north at my new home. Juggling two farms with four hours of distance between them was hard to say the least but we got through it. We hoped that one day we would get the opportunity to come back home and once again, God provided for us.

One good thing that came out of covid was how many companies started allowing workers to work fully remote. Max's company was one of them and when we found out I was pregnant with our second sweet baby, Max applied for a fully remote positions and we started the process of moving closer to home. We are now back to being one farm, thank God!
